The touch screen technology is not new in the world, but one thing is fairly new and is multi touch. Traditionally, computer touch screen only allow the user touches the screen in one place at one time. This is usually done with fingers or a stylus is sometimes called a stylus.
Touch screens that are in personal electronic devices such as iPods or computers have an electric current through them. When the user touches the screen, alters the electronic current in that particular place. At that point the coordinates of where you touched the screen is sent to the computer and the input selection done.
Touchscreens Today many have the ability to support multi-touch. Multi touch is just as it sounds. With a multi touch screen, if the user can touch the screen in two places at once and the computer will recognize the two points of entry. This capability enables the use of what is called gestures. A gesture is an order given to the computer via a touch input. For example, the user can tap on the screen pictures with two fingers and rotate right fingers. This gesture is a signal for the computer to rotate the image clockwise. There are literally hundreds of combinations that can be done as gestures.
On some computers, causing all wavy according to the finger is a gesture that signals the computer to open the photo editing software. In short gestures are a kind of code or an abbreviation that users the touch screen computer that can learn commands quickly. Although gestures are fairly new, the use of gestures to one day be used in all equipment.
